About the Vietnamese Immersion Program
The Vietnamese Immersion Program (VIP) supports students, families, educators, and the community by strengthening Vietnamese dual-language education and cultural programming at Summitt Elementary.
Together, we help sustain language learning, cultural connection, and opportunities for future generations.

Why Was VIP Created
VIP was created to help sustain and protect the Summitt Elementary Vietnamese Dual-Language Program over the long term. Strong programs grow through intentional community support.
Through cultural events, volunteer coordination, family engagement, enrichment opportunities, and classroom resources, VIP helps strengthen the connections that allow students, educators, and families to thrive.
Our Story
The Vietnamese Dual-Language Program at Summitt Elementary began in 1981 with just seven refugee students. Over the decades, it has grown into one of the largest and longest-running programs of its kind, serving thousands of students and families.
As the program continues to grow, so does the need for strong community support. VIP was created to help sustain and strengthen this work for future generations.
